At the Medical Education Unit at SSSMCRI we strongly believe that adult Learning is driven by instilling positive experience which builds on the existing skills of the learners to bring in changes in one’s behavior leading to lifelong learning. Here at MEU:

• We offer a platform for the Faculty to learn and improve their abilities.
• We coordinate the overall process of delivery of the curriculum.
• We also help orient students so that they are better placed to utilize the curriculum for learning.

The Academic Programs of the department are directed towards three target groups:

• Development and Curriculum Implementation.

  For the In-house faculty development we conduct on an average about one FDP every month in Teaching -Learning Methods, Evidence Based Medicine, Assessments, Curriculum Implementation and design, Feedback, microteaching &Curricular Governance. The MEU is also recognized by the MCI to train its Faculty in MCI-Revised Basic Course Medical Education Workshop, AETCOM and CISP ( Curriculum Implementation Support) Program. Till date The MEU at SSSMCRI has trained 74 Faculties in RBCW under the MCI Observer.
  Annually the MEU also Condutcs Two Workshops on Competency Based Medical Education , Research Methodology and Evidence Based Medicine for Faculty and students of other institutes across India.

• Undergraduate Curricular reforms and implementation.

  Every Year the MEU Organizes Two orientation Programs for the Fresh Batc of First MBBS Students. Further the MEU Assists the students in the CReAMS (Clinical research And Audit by Medical Students) Program and conduct of OSCE for Formative assessments.

• Post graduate curricular support.

  The MEU conducts Post Graduate Orientation Programin three phases covering core areas of competency Based Post Graduate Medical Curriculum, Research Methodology and Evidence based Medicine. Workshops on Eportfolio Maintenance & Reflective writing are also conducted regularly
