Dr. A. Kalaivani MBBS., MD.
Professor and Head, Department of Community medicine
Professor & Head of Department, Community Medicine, Additional Post Held Vice Principal – Curriculum, Shri Sathya Sai Medical College & Research Institute. She did undergraduate medical education from Govt. KAPV Medical College, Trichy and MD Community Medicine from Madras Medical College, Chennai.

Teaching
She is having eight and half years of experience of Undergraduate Medical teaching and five and half years of Postgraduate Medical teaching. She has been a Resource Person for many sessions under Institute Research Council, Medical Education Unit and also invited as a resource person in other reputed State Medical College for students and faculties.
And she was recognized by JIPMER as an Examiner for MPH Examination. She had motivated many students in taking post-graduation in Public Health.
Research
She is an active member of Institute Research Council for more than three years. She has been designated as PhD Guide of Community Medicine under SBV. She is having more than 70 Publications in Indexed National and International Journals, guided six Undergraduate ICMR-STS projects, guided PG Dissertations, reviewer in National and International Journals and Editorial Board Member in reputed Journals. She is also proficient in many Research oriented computer operations and software. She received cash awards for publications in journals with higher indexation & ICMR Research projects.
Administration
She is the current HOD of Department of Community Medicine, SSSMCRI. She is the project coordinator of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, a flagship program of Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.
And she is also a member of many committees of Institute as well as SBV namely Gender care,Institute Innovation Council, Anti-Gender Harassment Cell, Copyright Sub-Committee for Vetting, RNTCP Core Committee, Anti-Ragging Committee, Pharmacovigilance Committee etc., As a Committee Member for filing Copyrights, she coordinated many sensitization sessions as well as workshops for over 160 doctors and postgraduates in filing copyrights and also acted as Resource person for the same.
She had practiced different Health care management methods in Rural Health and Training Centre (RHTC) as Assistant Professor In-charge of RHTC in the past.
She was the Organizing Chairman & Resource person for ‘Hands on workshop on Mobile Based Data Capture’ in SBV- International Health Research Convention (IHRC).
Public Health
She was a part of Team coordinating sessions to exchange current practices of Public Health Administrations in India for participants comprising of Public Health Undergraduates, Postgraduate students and also Senior Public Health faculties of School of Medicine of University of Colorado.
She is having a vast experience of organizing and taking part in major health education campaign on different public health issues for common people, School Children and Government School Teachers and worked in many Community Health Epidemiological Surveys and Projects in field practice area of Kanchipuram District. She has been regularly involved in inspection of Mess, Hostels, College & Hospital premises for sanitary practices and follow-up action.
