NSS AND SOCIAL WELFARE
NSS Unit of SSSMCRI
National Service Scheme (NSS) was launched on 24 th Sep in Mahatma Gandhi Century 1969, with the primary objectives such as personality development, leadership qualities and social responsibility among the students through voluntary community service. The Ideology behind the NSS launching was inspired by the principles of Mahatma Gandhi jii. The Motto of NSS is “NOT ME, BUT YOU”.
NSS unit of SSSMCRI provides a platform for the medical students to develop the personality through community services by Regular NSS activities such as adopting schools, colleges around the near by villages & slums of the institution in addition to special camping programme.
NSS Unit of SSSMCRI first batch include total 100 students from MBBS & AHS Volunteers for the academic year 2018-19. It was inaugurated by our beloved Dean sir Prof.P.K Kotur. The vice-principals (Curriculum and Students affairs) also graced the program with their presence on 23 rd November 2018.
Volunteers will work on issues of social relevance, which keep evolving in response to the needs of the community, through regular and special camp activities which include: Health, family welfare and nutrition, Literacy and education, Environment conservation including provision of potable drinking water for the rural community, Social service programmes, Programmes for empowerment of women & Economic development activities etc.
