To develop the Department of Orthopaedics as a centre of excellence in musculoskeletal care by providing ethical, evidence-based, accessible, and comprehensive orthopaedic services while promoting high standards in teaching, training, research, and community outreach

Mission

  • To deliver comprehensive, evidence-based, ethical, and patient-centred orthopaedic care across the spectrum of trauma, reconstructive orthopaedics, arthroplasty, spine disorders, sports injuries, paediatric orthopaedics, musculoskeletal infections, and rehabilitation.
  • To impart high-quality undergraduate, postgraduate, Allied Health Sciences, and doctoral training through structured clinical exposure, operative teaching, academic mentorship, and competency-based learning.
  • To cultivate excellence in musculoskeletal sciences by integrating clinical acumen, surgical precision, perioperative safety, rehabilitation principles, and multidisciplinary care.
  • To promote a strong academic culture through seminars, journal clubs, case-based discussions, surgical demonstrations, clinical audits, and research-oriented learning.
  • To encourage original research, innovation, thesis work, translational studies, and scholarly publication in core and subspecialty orthopaedic domains.
