YOUTH RED CROSS

Youth Red Cross Installation and First Aid Training Programme

Youth Red Cross and First Aid Training Programme was organized by the Youth Red Cross Unit, on 30 Nov 2018 at Guest Lecture Hall, Ground Floor, Shri Sathyta Sai Medical College & Research Institute. The programme was attended by the Undergraduates, Post graduates, Allied health science students and Faculties of SSSMC&RI.

The Chief Guest, Ex-Dean of Students Tamilnadu. Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai. Prof. Dr. Jeevanandham, Chairman Indian Red Cross Society,Kancheepuram District, Dean SSSMC&RI, Prof. Dr. P.F Kotur, Guest Of Honour, Prof. Manickam, Secretary Indian Red Cross Society, Kancheepuram District inaugurated the YRC unit in SSSMC&RI. The chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Jeevanadham was felicitated by our Dean SSSMC&RI Prof. Dr. P.F.Kotur. Prof. Manickam was felicitated by Vice- Principal Curriculum Dr. Saurab Shrivastava.

NSS Unit of SSSMCRI first batch include total 100 students from MBBS & AHS Volunteers for the academic year 2018-19. It was inaugurated by our beloved Dean sir Prof.P.K Kotur. The vice-principals (Curriculum and Students affairs) also graced the program with their presence on 23 rd November 2018.

First Aid Training was presented jointly by both Prof Dr. Jeevanandham and Prof. Manickam. This was an interactive session where the students were questioned to test their knowledge regarding first aid skills. Prof Jeevanadham an efficient speaker with multiple languages he pulled the students crowd with ease. One of the keynote for his lively presentation was demonstration started with snake bite and how you will handle it as first aid? One student from first year MBBS, Mr. Aryan voluntarily participated in the snake bite first aid training programme, because of his bold appearance he was rewarded Rs.100 instantly by Prof. Dr. Jeevanandham.

The vote of thanks was delivered by Prof. Dr. Dost Mohamed Khan, YRC Unit Programme Officer, SSSMC&RI.

One Day Seminar for YRC Programme Officer at Jeppiaar Institute of Technology

Prof. Dr. Jeevanandham discussed about Orientation programme of YRC .
Mr. R. Janarthan had a interactive session about Plastic Free Zone awareness.
Mr. R. Mohanavenkatesan discussed about Health & hygiene and government welfare programme awareness.
Prof.R Manickam had a interactive session about First Aid Orientation.

Department of Pathology conducted Blood donation camp in association with YRC, Doctors Society of Social Service and Surya Fans club on 20.7.2019 at Urban health Center,SSSMCRI ,Thiruporur. Total number of donors were 25.

YRC Unit along with NSS went for campaign regarding awareness on harmful effects of plastic usage to the local public in and around Ammapettai village, Thiruporur taluk, Chenglepet district.
