Dr. Sahaya Sona Thresa is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Community Medicine. She did her Under Graduation at Vinayaga Mission Kirubanandavariyar Medical College and Post Graduation at Shri Sathya Sai Medical College and Research Institute. She joined Shri Sathya Sai Medical College as an Assistant Professor in Aug 2018.

She is in-charge of 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th semesters and also plays the role of CRRI coordinator. She along with other members of the department involved in organizing workshops, UG and PG academic programs. Her area of interest is environmental health and medical education. 

She is a member of IAPSM and Board of studies. She is also the President of Alumni Association. She has 4 publications in both national and international journals. She is also pursuing Phd (Medical Education) at Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth University.

Dr Karnaboopathy Ranganathan

Dr. R. Karnaboopathy is currently working as Associate Professor cum Statistician in the   Department of Community Medicine. He did his M. Sc., M. Phil., and Ph.D in Statistics during 2004 to 2014 at Annamalai University, Annamalai Nagar, Chidambaram. During his Ph. D period he worked in Project Fellow of UGC- Major Research Project.

He is joined as Assistant Professor cum Statistician on 23rd January 2015 in Department of Community Medicine at Shri Sathya Sai Medical College and Research Institute (A constituent college of Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth (SBV), Puducherry).

He have been involved in UG & PG Teaching activities, guiding researchers from all levels (viz. UG Students, AHS students, CRRIs, PG Students, Ph. D Scholars, Faculty members) in their various research projects, including PG dissertations. He has been a resource person for various Faculty Development Programs and other sessions organized by Medical Education Unit & Institutional Research Committee.

He is also an active member of Institutional Research Council (IRC), Institutional Animal Ethics Committee (IAEC), PG Research and Training Committee, Institutional Plagiarism Verifying officer for Research work, Students Disciplinary Committee, Anti Raging Squad for boy’s hostel of Shri Sathya Sai Medical College and Research Institute and Recognised as Guide for PhD Programme of Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth. He has a total of 27 publications in various International and National journals.
