COMMUNITY MEDICINE
RURAL HEALTH AND TRAINING CENTER
The rural health and training center is located at Sembakkam which is 10 km from SSSMCRI. The field practice area is extended to six villages which covers population of 18,000.
URBAN HEALTH AND TRAINING CENTER
The rural health and training center is located at Tiruporur which is 12 km from SSSMCRI. The center provides services to 1, 90,000 population covering seven field practicing areas under Tiruporur community block.
FACILITIES FOR STUDENTS
ANANDIBAI JOSHI AND MAX JOSEPH PETTENKOFER DEMONSTRATION ROOMS
Both are well equipped with strip chairs, Overhead Projector, LCD Projectors, Television, Computer and other audiovisual aids.
JAMES LIND MUSEUM
Museum is well equipped with display of models, charts, specimens and other material concerning communicable diseases, Community Health, Family Welfare planning, Sociology, National Health Programs, Environmental Sanitation, Maternal and Child Health, etc.
JOHN SNOW DEPARTMENTAL LIBRARY
The departmental library has textbooks by national and international authors for reference to be used by undergraduates, post graduates and faculty members.
RONALD ROSS RESEARCH LABORATORY
It has display of charts, specimens and spotters pertaining to non-communicable diseases, Nutrition, Entomology, Environment, etc. In addition, the research lab is well equipped with computer, internet and printer.
EDWIN CHADWICK GROUP DISCUSSION ROOM
This room is specially used for smaller group teaching and for group discussion purpose by undergraduates, post graduates and faculty members.
DAVID MORLEY LABORATORY
It has facilities for the purpose of demonstration of practical including entomology.
