I.PHARMACOVIGILANCE

Unit of Pharmacovigilance is actively reporting ADR to zonal center. ADR monitoring at SSSMCRI involves serious adverse events, customer ADR reporting and reporting blood and blood products related reaction (Haemovigilance).

Pharmacovigilance committee constitutes 14 members from various clinical departments and every second Thursday the committee meeting is conducted to review the Adverse drug reactions and PVC activities at SSSMCRI.

PVC members clinical rounds at 10.30 to 11.00

As the staff nurse will be the first person to be in contact with patients ,PVC has conducted sensitization program for staff nurses and Pharmacist about Pharmacovigilance and ADR form filling. Every year special PV program are conducted to sensitize the post graduate students about ADR monitoring and filling ADR forms.

II.Haemovigilance

A centralized hemovigilance program was launched in the country on December 10, 2012, to assure patient safety and promote public health through a well-structured program for monitoring of adverse reactions associated with blood and blood product transfusions.

Pharmacology with Department of Pathology has initiated haemovigilance program in SSSMCRI. We are collecting and reporting Senstization program on Haemovigilance it covered all Pathologist and blood bank officer.
