Dr. Priya Santharam had completed her MBBS from Kilpauk Medical College, The Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University in 1996 and did her Masters in MD Microbiology from PSG Institute of Medical Sciences, Coimbatore in 2010. She has diverse academic experience including her role as senior house officer in the United Kingdom and As General Practitioner in India. She has held additional posts as Academic coordinator and Staff warden in her previous work places. Presently she is the Head of the Department of Microbiology and guide for postgraduates in Microbiology. She is also the Member secretary of the HICC team. In addition, She is a member of the Medical Education unit and IQAC committee. Currently she is one of the PhD guides in SBV Deemed to be University, guiding two External PhD candidates. She has been External Examiner for Undergraduate, Allied Health Sciences Examinations for other Universities like The Tamilnadu Dr. MGR Medical university, Saveetha University, Bharath University and Andhra Medical College, Visakhapatnam. |

accredited signing authority for Central Lab-Microbiology Section at SSSMCRI. He holds
various responsibilities like Nursing Coordinator, NAAC Task Force member, PG e-Portfolio
coordinator for the Department of microbiology. He has under gone various training and CME
programmes on Hospital Infection Control, Antimicrobial Stewardship, NABL and NABH
training.
He is a Lab Technical Manager of C-MUDRA-SSSMCRI (Virology and Molecular lab). He
is also a Reviewer of various Journals like IP International Journal of Medical Microbiology
and Tropical Diseases and SBV Journal Of Basic, Clinical And Applied Health
Science. He has 6 Research publications (2021 to 2023) in various National and
International indexed journals to his credit. His area of Diagnostic and Research interest is on
Virology, Bacteriology, Resistance Mechanisms, Healthcare Associated Infections, Bacterial/
Viral Serology, Mycology, Parasitic infections, Molecular Diagnostics and Oncology.
