The faculty comprises of full time radiologists with expertise in all subspecialties of Radiology committed to improve healthcare through excellence in image-based patient care, research and education.
The department is equipped with state of the art imaging modalities offering round the clock service.
The department also offers Post graduate MD (Radiodiagnosis) and BSc (Medical Imaging Technology) courses with enthusiastic conduction and overwhelming participation in various academic activities including Conferences, CME, Guest Lectures and Workshops.
The department of Radiodiagnosis offers-
Apart from central library, modern collection of knowledge in the form of resource books, national and international journals on Radioanatomy, Radiophysics, Ultrasound, CT, MRI and various other topics are available for ready reference.
The department museum contains interesting cases from hospital database for students and faculty to follow their intellectual pursuits
150 undergraduates are taught by trained faculty with the help of meticulously prepared presentations spanning about 20 hours of theory classes and 2 weeks of clinical activities as per the guidelines of the Medical Council of India.
In addition to regular classes, students are actively involved in seminars, camps, rallies, inter college poster competition and quiz competitions.
Interns have optional postings in the department for 15 days during which basics of Radiology are taught. Radiological anatomy is emphasized, knowledge about differing imaging modalities and hands on ultrasound training are given.
Department trains 5 Radiology postgraduates every year. They are involved in seminars, journal clubs, case presentations and group discussions. They are encouraged to conduct, interpret and diagnose cases from day 1 of residency training under guidance of faculties.
Daily lectures by residents moderated by department faculty are undertaken. Apart from theoretical knowledge, case based reporting and radiation safety is also taught.
Faculty development activities are conducted from time to time to improve comfort and competence in skills relevant to teaching, administration and research responsibilities
The department caters to 100-150 Ultrasound scans, 150-200 radiographs, 20 -25 CT scans and 5-8 MRI scans on a daily basis and is functional 24x7.
CT guided/ Ultrasound guided procedures are also undertaken.
We offer the following imaging services for the patients referred to us. We also render the services for the patients referred from outside
Venous System
Arterial System
Salivary Glands
Ultrasound guided procedures
CT scan guided procedures
The department offers Post graduate MD (Radiodiagnosis) and BSc (Medical Imaging Technology) courses with enthusiastic conduction and overwhelming participation in various academic activities including Conferences, CME, Guest Lectures and Workshops.
Department trains 5 Radiology postgraduates every year. Post graduates are trained in areas of X-rays, Ultrasound, CT, CECT and MRI. They are exposed to barium studies, hysterosalphingogram and mammogram. They are also exposed to interventional procedures like ultrasound guided ascitic fluid tapping, ultrasound guided pleural fluid tapping and ultrasound guided fine needle aspiration cytology of the breast.
Department trains 10 B.Sc Medical Imaging Technology candidates every year. B.Sc students are trained in areas of X-rays, Mammogram, Ultrasound, CT, MRI and Special procedures. They have participated in poster presentations, paper presentations and attended national and international conferences. They are academically trained by regular theory classes and seminars.
The Department of Radiology is actively engaged in both clinical and pre-clinical imaging research. Clinical research largely follows individual as well as divisional interests in strong collaboration with other departments.
The faculty members have published numerous scientific research papers in various accredited international and national journals of repute.
The residents are also encouraged to start research work early on and present papers and posters in conferences.
Current research projects span all Radiology Subspecialities from Neuroradiology to interventional and emergency radiology.
